{"id":133,"date":"2011-01-01T18:38:09","date_gmt":"2011-01-01T23:38:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marcfbellemare.com\/wordpress\/?p=133"},"modified":"2011-01-01T18:47:27","modified_gmt":"2011-01-01T23:47:27","slug":"munger-on-coase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marcfbellemare.com\/wordpress\/133","title":{"rendered":"Munger on Coase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over at <a title=\"Kids Prefer Cheese\" href=\"http:\/\/mungowitzend.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kids Prefer Cheese<\/a>, Mike Munger has a really good <a title=\"Coase\" href=\"http:\/\/mungowitzend.blogspot.com\/2010\/12\/coase.html\" target=\"_blank\">post<\/a> celebrating Ronald Coase&#8217;s 100th birthday.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite part of Mike&#8217;s post is about reading classic works of economics and is a nice counterpart to my recent <a title=\"From Policy Research to Policy Making\" href=\"http:\/\/marcfbellemare.com\/wordpress\/?p=97\">post<\/a> on writing:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The point is that we should READ the classics, not just cite them. Especially when we cite them wrong. Both Coase and Pigou are much more subtle than the caricature they generally get in intermediate micro classes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>EDIT: Mike&#8217;s Twitter <a title=\"@mungowitz\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/mungowitz\">feed<\/a> tells me he was to have a vitrectomy this morning.
