{"id":1676,"date":"2011-04-08T18:58:41","date_gmt":"2011-04-08T22:58:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marcfbellemare.com\/wordpress\/?p=1676"},"modified":"2011-04-08T18:58:41","modified_gmt":"2011-04-08T22:58:41","slug":"midwest-group-on-african-political-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marcfbellemare.com\/wordpress\/1676","title":{"rendered":"Midwest Group on African Political Economy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am in College Station, TX tonight and tomorrow for the inaugural meeting of the <a title=\"MGAPE\" href=\"http:\/\/people.tamu.edu\/~kdionne\/MGAPE\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Midwest Group on African Political Economy<\/a> (MGAPE).\u00a0The MGAPE is the brain child of <a title=\"Kim Yi Dionne\" href=\"http:\/\/people.tamu.edu\/~kdionne\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kim Yi Dionne<\/a> (see her blog <a title=\"haba na haba\" href=\"http:\/\/habanahaba.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>, and her Twitter <a title=\"@dadakim\" href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/dadakim\" target=\"_blank\">feed<\/a> here) and is a sister organization to the <a title=\"WGAPE\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sscnet.ucla.edu\/polisci\/wgape\/\" target=\"_blank\">Working Group on African Political Economy<\/a> on the West Coast.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I am honored to have been asked to participate, and I am really excited about this conference because each paper gets an hour: ten minutes of presentation by the author, and 50 minutes of discussion by the group.
