You can read the the\u00a0<em>LA Times<\/em>&#8216; account\u00a0<a title=\"Powerful Earthquake Hits Eastern Turkey\" href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/world_now\/2011\/10\/powerful-earthquake-hits-eastern-turkey.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.\u00a0As of writing, <del>60<\/del>\u00a0<del>89<\/del>\u00a0<del>138<\/del>\u00a0<a title=\"7.2 Quake in Turkey Kills 217, Collapses Buildings\" href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/news\/world\/story\/2011-10-23\/turkey-earthquake\/50880238\/1\" target=\"_blank\">217<\/a> people are confirmed dead, but as many as 1,000 people may have died.<\/p>\n<p>How and where to donate? Answers, someone has questioned the legitimacy of this blog post or of Global Giving. Just so everyone knows: I am not getting <em>anything<\/em>\u00a0out of this (other than the knowledge that I have provided a way for people to contribute and, of course, page views).
